SUMMARY:Meet M-Bot STEM for kids 10-14 years old February 25-March 25\, 2021
DESCRIPTION:We will be using m-Bot\, make block education entry level programming. \n9 middle schoolers and their Adult partners will have the chance to build this little robot and learn how to program it.  Pairs must commit to all five weeks\, there is apossibility of the group continueing for a few extra weeks. \nYou will need to pick up the kit at the Center. Only one kit will be issued per family. \nSTEM is an Acronym that stands for Science Technology Engineering and Math. These subjects have a natural appeal for kids on the spectrum and they often excel in concrete subjects. Education in STEM will promote critical thinking and problem solving. Thank you to a grant from St Gobain and Nypro we are happy to offer a 5 week program which aligns with STEM. DESCRIPTION:This event is held virtually on Zoom. This is a 5 day camp. Even though the name is Camp There’s No Place Like Home\, you will be doing some adventures outside of the house. Some of the activities will include arts and crafts\, scavenger hunts\, games in the yard or house depending on the weather.  We will have some type of entertainment every day\, snacks\, and of course\, fun! We will do our best to fill your week with fun stuff to do.  We will be following social guidelines for everyone’s safety. \nWe will be distributing supplies for Camp Safe at Home on December 22nd at a time to be determined. You will also receive a printed copy of the schedule at this time. Camp will run from 10 am with a check in for the day’s activities. The day will end at 3 pm. SUMMARY:ASD Adults: Holiday Ornament-Making Class
DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to offer an ornament-making class just in time for the holiday season! Participants will make three holiday ornaments and get ideas for making other ornaments on their own. \nHere’s what you’ll need to participate: \n\nA pair of scissors\nA table or workplace suitable to do crafting. We suggest putting down protective covering such as newspaper since glue and other possible messy items may be used.\n\nThat’s it! We’ll be providing the rest of the materials to anyone who registers for this class. Kits with materials to make ornaments will be distributed between 12/10/20-12/14/20. Locations and times to pick up kits will be arranged with participants. Kits will be distributed at our Center in Worcester. Additional locations and times to pick up kits will also be arranged in the North Central and South Valley areas. \nPlease note – registration is required for this activity by Wednesday\, December 9th so materials can be distributed.
