Why do I need to renew my MassHealth coverage?

When the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020, the United States government declared a public health emergency. In response, MassHealth implemented protections so its members would continue to receive healthcare coverage without needing to renew. With the federal health emergency ending soon, MassHealth will return to its standard annual eligibility renewal processes.

Four Steps To Take Today

  1. Create an MA Login Account. An MA Login Account is the fastest way to renew your MassHealth and Health Connector coverage, update your information, and report changes to your household. Current members under the age of 65 can create an account at https://www.mahix.org/individual/.
  2. Update your contact information. Make sure MassHealth has your current address, phone number, and email so you do not miss important information and notices.
  3. Report any household changes. These include a new job, address, changes to your income, disability status, or pregnancy. This will allow MassHealth to get you the best benefit you qualify for.
  4. Read all mail from MassHealth. MassHealth will mail you information about your health benefit that may require you to take action to keep your current coverage. If you receive a large blue envelope, you must renew your MassHealth coverage as soon as possible.
