Helpful New Tools from MassHealth & As the State Prepares Further Guidance, Here Are Some Things You Can Do In the Meantime

Due to the HR-1 Budget Reconciliation Law passed last July, at the Federal Level, Insurance Changes for MassHealth Members are Coming to Massachusetts and Across the Nation.

8/11/26 Information from MassHealth:

Check out Mass.gov/MassHealthMemberChanges, the MassHealth webpage designed to help members and those who work with members stay up to date on the federal changes coming to Medicaid.

The webpage will be kept current and includes: 

  • Relevant information on the federal government’s new work and education requirements, as well as more frequent renewals;
  • NEW: A screener to help individuals determine if work and education requirements apply to them;
  • Details on where members can get help over the phone, online, or in their community; and,
  • NEW: A communications toolkit with flyers, posters, and social media graphics in multiple languages for partners to help spread the word!

What Can I Do Right Now to Keep My Coverage?

The most important things you can do now are: 

  • Make sure we have your current mailing address, email, and cell phone number so that you receive important messages. Update your address, phone, and email where MassHealth can reach you if needed.
  • Make sure that you and the families you work with have places to receive mail and notifications.
  • Read all notices MassHealth sends you.
  • Report any changes that could affect your coverage, like a new pregnancy or disability, a change in your income, or a change to the size of your household.
  • Sign up for MyServices (an easy-to-use web tool and mobile app for all MassHealth members) to see important information about your coverage 24 hours a day.

In Worcester, MA, you can enroll in health insurance through the official state marketplace Massachusetts Health Connector or via in-person navigators at local health centers and state offices.
